Op 4 oktober is het weer zover Dierendag!
Een dag om onze harige, gevederde en geschubde vrienden eens extra in het zonnetje te zetten. Of het nu gaat om een extra knuffelsessie, wat extra lekkers of een paar minuten extra speeltijd – op deze dag draait alles om hun welzijn en geluk. Maar Dierendag is meer dan alleen je eigen huisdier verwennen, het is ook een mooie reminder om stil te staan bij het welzijn van alle dieren. Het is een dag om bewustwording te creëren over dierenrechten en het beschermen van dieren in het wild, evenals huisdieren en landbouwdieren.
Dierendag wordt wereldwijd gevierd en valt niet voor niets op 4 oktober. Deze datum is gekozen ter ere van de feestdag van Sint Franciscus van Assisi, de patroonheilige van dieren. Hij stond bekend om zijn liefde en respect voor alles wat leeft. Dierendag is een dag om niet alleen lief te zijn voor onze huisdieren, maar ook om stil te staan bij het welzijn van alle dieren wereldwijd.

It’s a day to raise awareness about animal rights and the protection of wildlife, as well as pets and farm animals.
World Animal Day is celebrated globally and is held on October 4th for a reason. This date was chosen to honor the holiday of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. He was known for his love and respect for all living creatures. World Animal Day is a day to not only be kind to our pets but also to consider the well-being of animals worldwide.
